Purpose: The General Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the seamless and successful management of a high-volume resort. This position will also provide leadership and operational oversight of both the full-service and quick-service eateries located on-site at the resort and off-site. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue growth, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. The General Manager will uphold the resort’s standards of quality and service while implementing innovative strategies to enhance profitability, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement.
Physical Requirements: This position works in an office environment, requiring travel. The physical work environment includes spending a significant portion of the workday at a desk. This entails sitting for extended periods while utilizing a computer and various office tools. Proficient dexterity is essential, encompassing using hands and fingers for tasks such as typing, handling paperwork, and operating office equipment. Strong visual acuity is required to read and interpret information from computer screens, documents, and written materials. Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interactions with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders. This role may involve occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and guest services.
Provide operational oversight to the quick-service eateries located on-site and off-site.
Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service standards throughout the hotel and restaurants.
Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Financial Performance
Develop and manage the resort’s annual budget, including revenue, expenses, and profitability goals.
Analyze financial performance metrics and implement strategies to meet or exceed targets.
Identify opportunities for cost control, revenue enhancement, and resource optimization.
Team Management
Recruit, train, and lead a team of department managers and staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Guest Experience
Actively engage with guests to address feedback, resolve issues, and enhance satisfaction.
Monitor online reviews and reputation management platforms to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure the resort’s offerings align with guest expectations and market trends.
Food and Beverage Oversight
Collaborate with restaurant managers and chefs to ensure menu quality, efficient service, and profitable operations.
Drive innovation and seasonal offerings in the restaurants to attract diverse clientele.
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations across all food and beverage outlets.
Marketing and Sales
Work with the marketing team to develop strategies to attract local, regional, and international guests.
Build partnerships with local businesses and tourism organizations to enhance visibility and bookings.
Oversee group sales, event planning, and promotional campaigns for the resort.
Compliance and Safety
Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and employment laws.
Maintain emergency preparedness and oversee the implementation of safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven expertise in managing hotel and food and beverage operations.
Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in hospitality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive management experience in hotels, resorts, or large-scale hospitality operations (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred)
Benefits and Salary:
$175K - $200K base salary
Bonus Plan - worth up to 30% of base salary
