Hospitality Confidential is pleased to present an exciting new General Manager position in San Leandro, CA! Our client is a fast-casual pizza chain that is well-known for its delicious pies! The General Manager is responsible for growing the business through increased sales and profitability. To increase guest satisfaction and manage all operational issues ensuring the brand’s standards of quality and service are met. They hold all team members and managers accountable to company policies, procedures, and operating principles. The General Manager is responsible for the sales building, cost control and people development within their restaurant. ● Exhibit solid leadership by delivering operational excellence while upholding the brand’s core values.
● Optimize and grow profits by building sales and controlling costs, labor, and production
● Execute local marketing campaigns and the roll out of promotions and new menu items.
● Build an amazing culture by creating trust within their team, clearly communicating performance expectations, measuring performance results, and providing appropriate feedback.
● Manage shifts including daily decision making, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling and planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
● Ensure appropriate staffing levels by hiring and developing team members, shift leaders and assistant managers in their current position and for promotion to the next position.
● Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all brand’s policies, procedures, brand standards and legal compliance.
● Manage day to day cash handling including POS cash drawer, safe and deposit reconciliations and properly approve discounts, voids, and refunds.
● Proactively manage guest requests and concerns.
● Model guest service for the team.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:
● 2+ years of experience as a General or Assistant Manager in a full service, fast-casual or fast-food restaurant.
● Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
● High School diploma or equivalent, 4-year college degree preferred.
● Standard work week is 40 hours but may be more as business requires and must work a variety of dayparts including opening, mid-shifts and closing.
● Proven track record of building high performance teams
● Ability to effectively delegate responsibility
● Excellent communication skills
● Basic knowledge of computers and software.
● Financial/analytical aptitude including planning, budgeting, scheduling and P & L
management.
● Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
● Food Manager Certification (preferred)
Computer Skills:
● Scheduling Software, POS, Outlook, Excel, Word Certificates and License
● Food Manager Certification

● Kitchen workspace is restricted & without seating while on duty. It is usually hot and noisy!
● At peak periods, Managers may be under pressure to prepare food quickly enough to keep up with customer demand.
● On-the-line communication and job rotation.
● Short-term exposure to cooler and walk in freezer to pull food items as well as lifting containers from high shelves using ladders.
