Position Overview
This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job. Supervisors may assign additional responsibilities, and the responsibilities may change as the needs of the business change.
Responsibilities:
Open the door and turn off the alarm. Set lights and air conditioning.
Review emails, address as needed and try to solve any pending issues from the previous shift.
Assign opening duties to all Front of the House positions.
Check email for catering orders and office requests. Send the labor log and sales report.
Conduct 5 minutes meeting to communicate to employees about safety, guest service, any food related items, promotions and training.
Check uniforms for name badge, swipe cards, safety shoes, and safety belts.
Prepare all paperwork and set cash for registers. Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with policies and procedures.
Ensure that the café is set up correctly.
Send daily ambiance photos for both AM/PM shifts to Area Supervisor and Operations Team.
Send daily quality control checklist with pictures for both AM/PM shifts to Area Supervisor and Operations Team.
Receive all pastries and dessert items for quantity, quality and presentation.
Daily spot check of drink and food quality, temperature, presentation.
Receive all deliveries from all vendors, check in and organize stock.
Daily review of break violations reports and provide corrections.
Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
Adherence to hourly daily labor report to meet labor goal for the day, 23%.
Email any termination requests to Area Supervisor and Operations Team.
Ensure the café is ready to open at 7AM, use Manager Checklist.
Send employees on break. If working more than 6 hours, a meal break must be taken before the 4:59th hour worked.
Observe and provide training for employee’s performance and work productivity.
Every half hour check for guest satisfaction inside and outside dining areas. Address any Guest situations.
Adherence to proper process of any discounts, voids, manipulation and or abuse.
Review of weekly P&L to identify operation opportunities for improvement and create actionable items for results.
Achieve and sustain Open Dining feedback score of 4.5 average a month by providing outstanding guest services.
Address any employee situations.
Check and maintain the overall appearance of the café inside and outside.
At the end of shift, communicate with co-managers and cashiers about any 86 items.
At the end of shift, communicate with co-managers in any guest and employee situations.
Close registers and count and verify all monies. If short, email the Area Supervisor.

Communicate Effectively: Maintain open lines of communication with the team and upper management, facilitating feedback and fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration.
General and Safety:
Use a safety belt and safety shoes at all times.
Use a hand truck to move or lift anything over 25lbs.
Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
The position requires the lifting of 25lbs. Anything over 25lbs. assistance will be given to you.
Watch for wet floors and spillage, put signs and dry immediately.
CLEAN AS YOU GO! Watch for food, debris and objects on the floor.
The position requires the employee to be friendly and courteous.

Physical Requirements:
The ability to lift 25lbs regularly & un-assisted
The ability to respond quickly to sounds
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
The ability to safely climb ladders
The ability to work in cold temperatures
The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
The ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, stooping, balancing, reaching, pushing
Compensation & Benefits:
$24 - $26 hourly rate
$35 meal benefit a day

Outside of an employee’s shift, including before the start of their shift, the employee is entitled to a 30% discount on all food and beverage items at the Company’s cafes
