Hospitality Confidential is excited to present a new and exciting HR Manager opportunity with a fusion restaurant group powerhouse launching the first location in Silverlake, followed by additional openings in Century City! Our client is building a team that brings together culinary excellence, modern hospitality, and a strong workplace culture. As they grow their presence in Los Angeles, we’re searching for a dedicated HR Manager who can lead the charge in creating a compliant, collaborative and people-centered environment. As our HR Manager, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations in Los Angeles, ensuring full compliance with California labor laws, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hospitality environment and wants to make a real impact during a critical growth phase!
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Compliance
● Oversee full employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination, leaves of absence, and benefits administration.
● Ensure all practices comply with federal, California, and City of Los Angeles employment laws, including wage and hour laws, health & safety standards, and EEO regulations.
● Regularly review and update the Employee Handbook, HR policies, and internal processes.
● Partner with our external HR consulting firm as needed to maintain best practices and compliance standards.
Hiring & Onboarding
● Onboarding of front-of-house and back-of-house positions
● New hire training materials
Employee Relations & Culture Building
● Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters; mediate conflicts and support positive resolution.
● Partner with management to promote a healthy, inclusive, and respectful work culture.
● Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance, feedback, and progressive discipline.
Performance Management & Development
● Support performance review processes and work with leadership to establish growth and development pathways for employees.
● Assist in the planning and delivery of training programs, including onboarding and continuous development for restaurant staff.
HR Systems & Administration
● Manage and maintain employee records and HRIS systems accurately.
● Track key HR metrics and generate regular reports for management.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related Field.
● Minimum 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
● Strong knowledge of California employment laws and Los Angeles-specific labor requirements.
● Proven success in recruiting and retaining top talent in fast-paced environments.
● Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
● High level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
● Strong collaborator who can work cross-functionally with operations and leadership.
● Mandarin Chinese is a plus but not required.

● $95k - $120k annual base salary range
