This elevated, ingredient-driven concept showcases the best of traditional Japanese cuisine-robata, tempura, ramen, and izakaya fare-served in a dynamic, high-volume setting known for precision, hospitality, and excellence.
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations, including service execution, team leadership, financial performance, and guest satisfaction. They work closely with the Executive Chef and ownership to ensure a cohesive, hospitality-driven experience while maintaining operational efficiency and brand standards.

General Manager – Responsibilities:
● Serve as an effective leader and inspirational role model for staff and management
● Build guest relationships and community ties by being present and engaging during service
● Drive business performance by increasing revenue and managing controllable expenses
● Oversee guest service and ensure proper staffing through scheduling, training, and
development
● Monitor labor and purchasing to optimize profitability
● Uphold all policies, procedures, and brand standards
● Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment
● Maintain the highest standards for food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
● Ensure all guests receive friendly, responsive, and attentive service
● Continuously mentor and develop management team through coaching and accountability
● Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members
● Deliver staff education on food, beverage, and service standards
● Collaborate with accounting to review financials, GL, and approve invoices
● Track daily sales, labor, and COGS to ensure budget alignment
● Process payroll, monitor timekeeping compliance, and manage meal/rest break adherence
● Oversee purchasing to ensure quality products and cost-effective buying aligned with
budgets
● Manage daily shifts including decision-making, planning, ambiance, and cleanliness
● Enforce sanitation and maintenance standards in accordance with health regulations
● Monitor market trends and adjust inventory strategies as needed
● Ensure compliance with employment law and implement corrective actions when necessary
● Make key personnel decisions regarding hiring, discipline, and terminations
● Lead onboarding and training programs for all new hires
● Collaborate with executive team on budgeting and P&L analysis
● Maintain proficiency with systems: Toast POS, Ctuit, MS Office, Adobe InDesign, Bill.com,
OpenTable, and 7Shifts
● Supervise Events Manager and implement initiatives to grow private dining and banquet sales
Position Qualifications:
● Minimum 3 years of General Manager experience in a high-volume, fine dining environment
● Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, fine wine, sake, spirits, and beer
● Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills
● Proficiency in reading and managing P&L statements and budget planning
● Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office, Toast POS, 7Shifts, Bill.com, Paylocity, and InDesign
● Physically able to stand and walk for long periods and assist with service
● Ability to lift 25–50 lbs as needed

Job Type:
● Full-time
Compensation & Benefits:
● $120K - $125K Base salary
● Quarterly, performance-based bonus of up to 15% of base salary
