Hospitality Confidential is pleased to present an exciting Food and Beverage Director position with an acclaimed food & beverage operator with restaurants in the Bay Area that will be overseeing the Food and Beverage program with a popular, boutique hotel in Beverly Hills.. The Food and Beverage Director oversees all food and beverage operations within the hotel, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, financial performance, and team leadership. In this role, the Food and Beverage Director will be responsible for managing two full-service restaurants and lobby bar, pool area, roomservice and banquets. Responsibilities include food and beverage menu development and costing, implementation and execution of guest service standards, hiring and training of staff, weekly payroll, processing accounts payable and financial reporting. They will be responsible for maintaining policies and procedures and adhering to state and local laws. They will be tasked with implementing systems to ensure food and beverage operations are well organized and effectively executed.
The Food and Beverage Director must be a dynamic, professional leader with effective communication and organizational skills. They must maintain a positive working relationship with hotel management and their employees. Qualified applicants will have 3 – 5 years experience in this role. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and manage all F&B outlets and culinary departments to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
- Work with hotel to forecast sales and staff outlets to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Coordinate with the Executive Chef and culinary team so that food purchasing, prep and production meets business needs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the annual F&B budget, forecasting, and P&L analysis.
- Monitor and control labor and cost of goods, ensuring profitability and cost-efficiency.
- Analyze sales and performance data to drive revenue and profitability.
Guest Experience
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through effective planning, staffing and execution of quality food and beverage.
- Maintain food and beverage outlets so they are clean, well maintained and guest ready.
- Be present during peak business times to support staff and engage with guests
Staff Management & Development
- Hire, train and develop staff to achieve excellence and provide opportunities for growth.
- Provide staff with effective training to ensure success.
- Promote teamwork, motivation, and a culture of excellence and accountability.
Entrepreneurial Skills
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth by working with hotel on promotions and events.
- Examine operations to minimize waste and maximize operational efficiencies.
- Maintain vendor and supplier relationships for quality and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience as a food and beverage director.
- Strong operational experience in driving revenues and profitability.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of cuisines, wine, spirits, and fine dining service.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business or Culinary Arts (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS, Scheduling, AP Software
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Hands-on presence during peak service hours and key hotel events.
- Must be physically able to walk between food and beverage outlets and spend hours on your feet
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $140K - $160K base salary
- Quarterly, performance-based bonus of up to 15% of base salary
