Production Manager – High-Volume Meal Production
Lead a 25-person kitchen team for a fast-growing meal company! Drive efficiency, inspire people, and help scale to 35K meals a week by 2026. Hands-on leadership meets high-volume excellence.
Hospitality Confidential is pleased to present an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Production Manager to join a fast-growing meal production company at the forefront of innovation in large-scale culinary operations. This organization is scaling rapidly and aims to reach 35,000 meals per week by mid-2026, driven by a commitment to quality, efficiency, and team culture.
This is not your typical kitchen leadership role — it’s an opportunity to refine systems, mentor a high-performing production team, and set new standards for operational excellence. The ideal candidate combines hands-on leadership with a systems-driven mindset and thrives in an environment where growth, agility, and collaboration define success.
About the Position
The Production Manager will oversee all aspects of meal production in a high-volume, single-facility operation. Managing a team of over 25 kitchen staff members, this leader will ensure smooth daily execution, maintain the highest standards for food quality and safety, and continuously optimize production systems to support scale.
Working closely with senior leadership, the Senior Production Manager will act as a trusted operational partner - capable of running the facility independently, improving efficiency, and fostering a workplace culture that values growth, accountability, and respect.
Skills & Requirements
5+ years of leadership experience in large-scale food production, catering, or meal prep environments (not restaurant-only backgrounds).
Proven ability to manage 20+ team members in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen or manufacturing-style food operation.
Demonstrated success overseeing daily production at scale, including scheduling, labor management, and output tracking.
Strong understanding of kitchen systems, process improvement, and operational efficiency — able to identify bottlenecks and implement streamlined workflows.
Deep working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards; ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred.
Comfortable with hands-on leadership — supporting production while coaching and developing team members.
Spanish communication skills strongly preferred; ability to lead and connect with a bilingual workforce.
Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and inventory with attention to detail and accountability.
Proficiency with production planning tools, inventory management systems, or similar operational software a plus.
Adaptable and steady in a startup-like environment, where systems evolve rapidly and flexibility is key.
Culinary knowledge sufficient to ensure quality and consistency, though deep R&D or creative recipe work is not required.
